Welcome to La Cab’Âne for your first night! Located on the edge of a forest and bordered by the river, this cabin helps you to get back to the basics and to forget about modernity. During this timeless stay, you will taste the joys of candle lighting, kerosene lamps, and cooking on a period stove. Out of respect for our environment, we have chosen to place dry toilets here. An outdoor solar shower will allow you to cool down on hot days. The pond available will allow you to indulge in the pleasures of fishing. Upon prior request, a barbecue with charcoal will be at your disposal!
To continue your adventure, we suggest that you gain altitude and get a change of scenery by spending the night in the forest upon the branches of our oak and cherry trees that are more than a hundred years old. Perched between 3 and 16 meters high, in the middle of the forest or in the treetops, you will feel nature’s beating heart up close. Your cabin offers a rustic interior with ecological toilets and all the necessary comfort to spend an unforgettable night! The full breakfast will be waiting for you at the foot of the cabin the next morning.
Important: treehouses are in high demand throughout the year. Therefore, in case of unavailability, we will offer you a room in a traditional and charming family guesthouse. A sleeping bag is required.
Day 1 – 11 km: After getting your donkey, you will head towards Le Pré de Marius through the field trails, the undergrowth, the national forest of Signy l’Abbaye, and the high pastures. When you arrive at Le Prè de Marius, you can opt for a fresh bath in the Malacquise River.
Day 2 – 13 km: After a hearty breakfast, departure to the charming village of Signy l’Abbaye. On your way, you will cross the majestic forest of Signy l’Abbaye, one of the largest in the department. When you arrive in the village, linger on the Gibergeon resurgence, it is perhaps different from what you may imagine. In the afternoon, experience a thrill with the “Chêne Perché” tree climbing course.
Day 3 – 14 km: Hike to Vaux Vilaine via the long-distance trail (Sentier de Grande Randonnée). Return to your starting point (handled by us).
Our offer includes half-board during your stay: in the morning, two hearty breakfasts will be served, and you will taste two regional dinners.
Drinks are not included in the set menu.
Accommodation the first night, based on two people, in a cabin in the woods including breakfast
Accommodation the second night in a tree house on the basis of two people at the heart of the forest or in a three-star guesthouse in a double room including breakfast
Accompaniment by a donkey throughout the stay with assistance in the event of a problem
